CANSTRUCTIoN

The fog is synonymous with San Francisco–it is as well known as other iconic architectural and natural landmarks. It became a major element of our concept, posing an interesting challenge to capture its weightlessness and to utilize our building materials in an unusual way. The Sutro Tower at the top of Twin Peaks has been chosen as the architectural landmark to represent San Francisco. It vertically acts as a contrasting element to the fog's natural horizontal flow. The cans that are used for the fog element were selected for their neutral color with labels rotated in order to create a monochromatic impression. The cans used for the lower portion were chosen to achieve the desired level of detail. They have a contrasting color in order to be easily differentiated as the architectural element in our installation.
